The law firm of McCullers & Whitaker is happy to announce that its Garner office has relocated to 216 US Highway 70 West. As part of the move, McCullers & Whitaker has added several new attorneys as well as new office support staff.

McCullers & Whitaker is a full service law firm founded in 2004 with offices located in Garner, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. With the recent purchase of the real property located at 216 US Highway 70 West, the firm now has a 5,000 square-foot office building to call home.

The law firm's attorneys represent clients every day in a wide range of matters. This afternoon, Mr. Earle Purser was laid to rest at his home church, Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church (also my home church). For the few people out there who did not have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Purser during his ninety plus years on this planet, you truly missed out.

Mr. Purser was a gentleman scholar - a man of faith who truly believed that service came before self. He was generous with his money, time and energy, helping young attorneys, recovering alcoholics, the homeless and countless others realize that their lives were precious, valuable and, most importantly, that they were worthy of God's love.

Mr. Purser began practicing law in 1950. He was a living link to the days of Atticus Finch and a time when attorneys were revered members of the community. Mr. Purser is one of the reasons I choose to become an attorney. Goodbye Earl, you will be missed.

For the second year in a row, the Law Firm of McCullers & Whitaker, PLLC, sponsored a four-man team in the Wake County Bar Association's Attorney Bowling League. After a grueling, 10-week league schedule, the firm's team finished in third place.

The Law Firm of McCullers & Whitaker, PLLC is proud to announce that attorney Mitchell K. Brewer of Garner has joined the firm.

Mitch was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina, and graduated from Barton College, Cum Laude, with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice.

After a brief stint as a consultant for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Interstate Compact on Juveniles Section, Mitch attended and graduated from Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, earning academic awards for his performance in Federal Rules of Evidence and Sports and Entertainment Law.

Mitch has practiced law since 2005, concentrating his practice in family and criminal law. Mitch will head up the firm's family law division, while also contributing to the firm's already well-known criminal defense division.

For our inaugural post on the brand new McCullers & Whitaker, PLLC blog, we thought we'd take a minute to introduce the firm. Sure, our website (www.mandwlawyers.com) does that to some extent, but in a more formal tone than we would like to use here.

McCullers & Whitaker was formed in 2004 by Josh Whitaker and Damion McCullers. They knew each other in middle school, but became good friends as first-year students at the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. Damion was born and raised in Raleigh and Josh was born and raised in Garner.

A large majority of Josh's practice centers around real estate - residential transactions, commercial transaction, performing foreclosures for banks and lenders, defending clients facing loss of property as a result of Imminent Domain, as well as civil litigation. Despite this concentration, Josh also spends a great deal of time and energy representing businesses of all sizes. In this capacity, Josh organizes corporations, limited liability companies, and other business entities; negotiates and drafts contracts; and litigates to preserve and protect the financial interests of his clients.

Damion's practice is multi-faceted as well. Damion spends most of his time in District and Superior Court representing clients with anything from minor traffic violations, DUI's, and misdemeanors to serious felonies. Damion's areas of practice also includes family law.
